Serbia’s
capital is located at the intersection of the Danube River and the Sava River.
There is an eclectic mix of old and new buildings. Lively and vibrant city with
dominating Kalemegdan Fortress, located in Kalemegdan Park.
NOVI SAD
It is the
capital of Vojvodina . The city is perhaps most famous for its dominating
landmark, the Petrovardin Fortress, a protected building that dates from 17th
century and keeps a watchful eye over the city, as well as the EXIT music that
is annually held in July.
STUDENICA
MONASTERY (UNESCO)
It is one
of the largest and richest Serbian Orthodox monasteries. Founded in 1190 by
Stefan Nemanja, the founder of the medieval Serb State, it consists of 3
churches, walls and towers.
DRVENGRAD
The “Timber
Town” is located in the Mokra Gora Valley. The village that was actually
originally built as a film set by the local director Emir Kusturica is now a
fully running ethnic open air museum.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL
SITE FELIX ROMULIANA ( UNESCO)
It thanks
to numerous hot springs in the region, the place was chosen by Emperor Galerius
as a residence after his retirement. The complex of temples and palaces served
as a place of worship , a monument and a luxurious villa.
