BOYANA
CHURCH (UNESCO)
This unique
monument is located on the outskirts of Sofia. It was built at the end of the
10th and beginning of the 11th century. The greatest
values of this church are its several layers of frescoes.
RILA
MONASTERY (UNESCO)
Founded in
the 10th century, the Rila Monastery is regarded as one of
Bulgaria’s most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments and
is the key tourist attraction in both Bulgaria and Southern Europe.
THRACIAN
TOMB OF KAZANLAK (UNESCO)
It is a
vaulted brickwork “beehive” tomb that is a part of a larger royal Thracian
necropolis. The worldwide fame of the monument is due to the remarkable murals
in the hall of the dome room.
