15. SULTAN
ALAM SHAH ISLAMIC COLLEGE
Originally known
as Kolej Islam Klang, this college was built in 1955 on 14.3 acres of land. It
is situated on Jalan Kota Raja, which is one and a half kilometres away from
Klang. It was donated by Almarhum SUktan Hishamuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan
Suleiman. The name was changed to Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah ( KISAS) in 1989
to express gratitude to Sultan Alam Shah as the founder of the school.
16. SULTAN SULEIMAN ROYAL MOSQUE
The Sultan
Suleiman Royal Mosque is Selangor’s Royal Mosque, which is located in Klang. It
was designed by the British Architect L.Keste Vend in the early 1930s, and was
officiated in 1932 by the late Almarhum Sultan Sir Alaeddin Suleiman Shah of
Selangor along with the British’s Federated Malay States High Commissioner Sir
Lawrence Nuuns Guillemard.
The mosque’s
architecture is a combination of Western Art Deco and Neoclassical styles.
Among the attractive features are the Tangga Diraja (royal stairs) from Istana
Alam Shah and a royal mausoleum, where the late Sultan Salahuddin is buried.
17. KLANG PRIMARY SCHOOL ( SK KLANG)
Klang Primary
School is one of the grandest buildings along Jalan Dato Hamzah. Built in 1939,
this Anglo Malay architecture has beautiful louver windows at the upper level
and this ventilation design serves as a model for the architecture of schools
in Malaysia.
18. PRE- WA SHOPLOTS
More than 40 pre
war shoplots form a historical scene at Jalan Raya Timur, which is situated in
close proximity to Klang Railway Station.
These lots, which
were constructed between 1930 and 1940, made the area one of the busiest spots
in southern Klang. Subsequent to the decline of the economy in small towns,
there are just a handful of shops remaining that are now functioning as
commercial offices.
19. ANGLO CHINESE SCHOOL
The Anglo Chinese
School ( Sekolah Kebangsaan / Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Methodist ACS or ACS
Klang) is the oldest school in the state of Selangor and third oldest in
Malaysia. ACS was founded and established on 10 March, 1983 and officially
opened by the former British Residents general Sir Willia Hood Treacher.
20. KLANG HIGH SCHOOL
Klang High School
was originally named Temporary English School and was open to students in the
town of Klang on 14 January, 1928 with the beginning of the academic school
year. The main school block was opened by the Sultan of Selangor on 20 March,
1930.
21 .INDIAN –MUSLIM MOSQUE
The Indian Muslim
Mosque was originally built in 1910 as a religion and community center for
Indian Muslim who lived around Klang Town area. After serving for more than 60
years, the mosque was rebuilt again to a new and modern mosque as to
accommodate more people.
22. JALAN STESEN 1
Jalan Stesen 1 is
one of the oldest and most historical streets in Klang. Aged craftsmen at work
in their shop houses can be seen producing goods along the street.
The old shop
houses often ornamented with carving and gilding form the beautiful scenery of
the street.
23. KUIL SRI SUNDARARAJA PERUMAL DEVASTHANAM
Sri Sunderaraja
Perumal temple was built nearly 120 years ago is one of the oldest temples
temples in Malaysia and the largest Vaishnavite temple in Malaysia. The temple
is popularly called the “ Thirupathi of South East Asia” after its famous
namesake in India. The Gopuram of this temple shows many sculptures and
carvings of different deities, representing many epics in simple image form.
