spread over 94 acres of verdant landscape, Poona Club Golf Course was established by the British in 1918 and held its first major tournament in 1920. Located in the city's posh Yerawada Road, Poona Golf Club has over 1000 members and conducts about 40 tournaments in a year.
Redesigned and renovated in 1992-83 by Phil Tyan of Pacific Coast Design , the golf club lies inside the vast premises of the prestigious Pooona club. Heavy vegetarian with more than 2000 varieties of trees dot the landscapes here.The course has 8 water bodies, 38 sand bunkers , 2 grass bunkers and 13 hazards to make things even more interesting! The golf course has practice facility that is flood -lit and stays open from 5pm to 9.30pm every day
