The pillory was built in the XVII century to replace the pillory of Kind D. Manuel I. Its current location and design are a replica dated from 1939-40, since the original monument was demolished in 1870. In the reconstruction of the replica it was possible to gather all the original elements, except the pedestal. It consists on a bulb form base and shaft , topped by an armillary sphere of great dimensions , in iron , upon a rustic spire.
