BHUTAN




TOURISM IN BHUTAN was introduced in 1974 during the coronation of His Majesty the 4thKing. Since then Bhutan pursued a cautions policy in tourism guided by principles of sustainability that is today the envy of many destinations in the world.

TRAVEL TIPS
VISA
With the exception of visitors from India, Bangladesh and Maldives, all other visitors to Bhutan need a visa. Visas are processed  by your licensed Bhutanese tour operator.

CURRENCY
The currency of Bhutan is called the Ngultrum ( Nu) .US 1 is about Nu 60. Foreign currency can be changed at the airport and local banks .

ACCOMMODATION
All tourists are kept at a minimum of 3 star rated hotels and resorts. There are also 5 star hotels, resorts, homestay and cozy farm houses available in many places.

SHOPPING
The country is popular for textiles, souvenirs, and cane and bamboo products. There are a lot of shops and emporiums that sell hand woven textiles, handicrafts, thangkas , jewelry , antiques, organic herbal products and other products.

TELECOMMUNICATION
The country has good communication services. Most hotels provide Wi-Fi internet services. The country also has good cellphone connectivity.
