Ha Long Bay ---Where Even Dragons Fell in Love

Legend has it that when the locals of the area were atatched by invaders from the North,the heavens sent down a family of dragons to help defend the land. The dragons were believed to have descended upon the sea , thus the name "HA LONG"which means descending dragons.


The surrouding islands and islets are believed to have been formed when the dragons spat out jewels and jadeto form a fortress to protect the land .Due to the beauty of the bay, the dragons fell in love with the area and decided to remain on earth.


With the bay's mirror calm waters and thousands of limestone mountains and caves believed to have been formed over 500 million years.Ha Long Bay has a timesless ambiance that makes it perfect for couples with a sense of adventure .


 At the Bay, couples should hire a boat from the coastline of Bai Chay , to visit some of the Bay's most fascinating sites including the Virgin and Male Grotto, where a stone formation of a girl lays facing towards the shore where a stone formation of a boy whose calls for her can still heard in the wind. Despite the tragic fate of the young lovers , the grotto is a popular romantic rendezvous spot for lovers.Other formations include the wooden stake cave, cave of Awe and Con Voi also know as The Elephant.
