LAKE TOBA & PUSUK BUHIT
Lake Toba
is the big volcanic lake which is 100 km length and 30 kms width. View from
Janji Martahan , samosir Regency, Western area of Lake Toba. The background
lokks Pusuk Buhit , mountain mythology the Batak people.
OIL PALM PLANTATION
Oil Palm (
Elaeis ) is an important industrial plants producing cooking oil, industrial
oil and fuel ( biodiesel) in North Sumatera Province.
SIDAMANIK TEA PLANTATION
A beautiful
expanse of tea plantation like tapestry. Located in near Pematang Siantar,
Simalungun regency, about 150 kms from Medan (4 hours)
MOUNT SINABUNG
Located in
Karo Highland, near Berastagi and Kabanjahe. 25 miles from Lake Toba
supervolcano. Sinabung is active volcano, several times erupted.
MOUNT SIBAYAK
Located in
Karo Highland, near Brastagi and Kabanjahe. Sibayak is not active volcano; it
can be climbed about 1 hour from Brastagi.
BERASTAGI
Berastagi
is a tourist spot in Karo highlands. Located about 66 kilometres from Medan
Berastagi flanked by 2 active volcanoes is Mount Sibayak and Mount Sinabung.
Near Mount Sibayak , there are hot spring baths. Economic activity in Berastagi
centered on vegetable market, fruits and tourism. Ethnic dominant in this area
is the Karo tribe.
BERASTAGI FRUIT MARKET
Located in
Karo Highland Regency, about 1300 meters above sea level . Berastagi produce
sweet orange and passion fruit are the most famous. Berastagi also known by a
variety of ornamental plants. Every year, regularly organized flowers and fruit
interest.
DOKAN VILLAGE
Visit the
Dokan Village brings us to the 100 years ago. Dokan is known as a traditional
village that became one of the attractions in Karo because the village is one
of 3 villages that represent the history and culture of Karo civilization.
Siwaluh jabu is the 8 house because there are 8 house ( jabu).
Inhabited
by 8 heads of housholds who live side by side in peace. Located in Karo
Regency.
LAKE LAU KAWAR
Located at
the foot of Mt Sinabung in Karo regency. The lake look beautiful when the
sunset time.
SAMOSIR ISLAND
Pieces of
Paradise .A large volcanic island in Lake Toba, located in the center of the
Lake Toba.
TELE
Tele
located at Harian near Pangururan ,Samosir Regency.Tele located at an altitude
of 1450 meters above sea level in the western side of Lake Toba.one of the best
places to look at the beauty of Lake Toba especially when sunrise.
TOR TOR
Tortor is
presented with a ceremonial dance music gondang. Physically tortor a dance, but
the deeper meaning of his movements showed tortor is a medium of communication,
in which the motion is presented through an interaction between the
participants of the ceremony. Each dancer must wear Ulos and use the instrument
/gondang ( Uninguningan). Located at Museum Hutabolon, Simanindo , Samosir Regency.
LAKE SIDIHONI
Sidihoni is
a lake on the Lake Toba, located in Ronggur Nihuta, Samosir Regency.
TANGKAHAN
Tangkahan
is a small village on the border of Gunung Leuser National Park. Located in
Langkat Regency about 124 kms from Medan. Tangkahan specializes in eco tourism
activities like jungle trekking and elephant trekking. It is definitely hidden
and for many a paradise. It is the perfect place to get off the beaten track,
but still have access to nice food and comfortable bungalows.
BUKIT LAWANG
Gate to
Gunung Leuser National Park, UNESCO nature conservation areas. Located in
Langkat regency, 90 kms from Medan.
SEI BINGEI
Located in
Taman Alam Jaya, Sanggapura village, District Bingei, Langkat Regency. Sei
Bingei suited as a starting place to keep track of sports tourism rafting. The
rapid flow of the river and rapids along the river put sei Bingai at the level
of 2-3.Start in the Sanggarpura village and finish at the dam Namu sira-sira.
NIAS ISLAND
The Indian Ocean
roars onto Indonesia, arriving in one of the world’s most spectacular surf
breaks here on Nias Island: Surfers have been coming here for decades for the
waves on superb Sorake beach, which has deservedly kept this far –flung island
on the international surfing. The island is inhabited by a majority of Nias
tribe, which still has the megalithic culture. This area is an important
tourist attraction such as surfing, traditional house, diving and fahombo (jump
stone)
TINGGI RAJA
White
crater Dolok Tinggi Raja is a natural reserve area covering 167 hectares,
located in District Silau Kahean, Simalungun Regency about 120 kms (3.5 hours)
from Medan via Dolok Masihul. In the area of the nature reserve there is hot
spring of white crater.
MAHLIGAI TOMBS
Barus
located on the dge of the West Coast of Sumatra Island. Barus as Emporium and
the city center of civilization in the 1-17 century AD and is also called by
another name,namely Fansur.
Barus old
city became one of the tourist destinations as well as for the Islamic
archeology researchers, both from within and outside the country, especially in
the Old Lobu where French and Indonesian reserachers carried out archaeological
explorations. In this region had lived the Aulia. There are 44 Aulia whose tomb
is in the Mahligai tomb and the Papan Tenggi tombs which located in Barus,
Tapanuli Tengah.

BAHAL TEMPLE
Bahal
Temple is a Vajrayana Buddhist Temple located in Bahal Village, Padang Bolak.,
Portibi, Padang Lawas Regency. About 3 hours journey with car from Padang Sidempuan
or 400 km from Medan.
The temple
was constructed in red brick materials and estimated built around 11th
century CE, linked with Pannai Kingdom, one of the trading ports on the coast
of Strait of Malacca under Srivijayan mandala. The temple was named according
to the village’s name, yet another name Portibi in Batak Language means” world
“or “earth”.
CROCODILE FARM
Crocodile farm Asam Kumbang is the largest crocodile reptile breeding park in Indonesia. The park has an area of 2 hectares is even becoming the largest crocodile park in Southeast Asia. Here, there are about 2500 crocodiles of various sizes, including a crocodile which has over 40 years old. Located at Jalan Bunga Raya 59, Medan Selayang about 5 kilometres from the center of Medan.
