ULURU (AYERS ROCK & KINGS CANYON)
Uluru –Kata Tjuta National Park, 440 kilometres southwest of
Alice Springs , represents the physical and spiritual heart of Australia.One of
the great natural wonders of the world, Uluru/Ayers Rock stands 348 meters high
and like an iceberg,has most of its bulk below the surface.
To the west of Uluru is Kata Tjuta /The Olgas –a massive pile of 36 domes , estimated to be as old as 500 million years.

300 kilometres away is the Watarraka National Park. Best
known for Kings Canyon – a mighty chasm that cleaves the earth to a depth of
270metres, the sheer red rock face of the Canyon soars over 100 meters above
cycad gardens .
