gastronomy , highlighting the purest quality olive oul and alheira, a very
popular and quality olive oil and typical smoke sausage from Mirandela.
The Carnival celebrations in Tras-Os-ontes are vibrant and
full of tradition. The festivities extend till the days leading up to Ash
Wednesday and include colourful costumes, cheerful parades and traditional
music, attracting visitors from all over the world. Invigorating hot springs
and wild nature are attributes of a well protected area with an admirable
beauty.
