TOURISM ACTIVITIES IN POLAND

1.       HIKING

There are 4 European long distance hiking trails passing through Poland.Apart from these, PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) also delineated and marked many local routes. The most important routes include: The Main Sudety Route named after Mieczyslaw Orlowic and blazed with red. Leading from Swieradow –Zdroj to prudnik , it passes through the most attractive areas  of the Sude Mountains . The main Beskid Route named after Kazimierz Sosnowski , also blazed with red, travels from Ustron in beskid Slaski to Wolosate in bieszczady. The seaside Route is marked with red and runs along  the Baltic Sea Coast through west Pomeranian and Pomeranian Voivodships and is part of the European Long Distance Route.

2.       CLIMBING

The most difficult rock climbing routes in Poland are on Pochlec and in Jaskina Mamutowa (Mammoth’s Cave). Easier routes, more suitable for beginners, are in the Czestichowa Upland and in the vicinity of Polesice and Rzedjiwice villages.

3.       CYCLING

There are 6 bicycle routes in Poland, which belong to the EuroVelo European Network of bicycles routes

4.       HORSE RIDING

Poland has many attractive routes dedicated to horse riding tourism. Often situated far from main roads, they pass the through green areas with magnificent views of nature.

5.       WILDLIFE WATCHING

Being a home to rare species of birds and areas of untouched nature, Poland s a genuine paradise for those who love watching wildlife. Among the most attractive bird sites in Poland are: the Barycz Valley, the Biebrza, Wetlands and the Warta River Estuary. They provide nesting sites to thousands of representatives of water and marsh birds.

6.       WATER SPORTS

Those who love canoeing will enjoy Polish Picturesque, lonely routes featuring wild plants and rare animal species. Sailors will probably take advantage of the access to the sea and an extensive network of lakes, rivers and canals.

7.       FISHING

Poland is a perfect place for fishing trips, especially for those who highly appreciate natural water landscapes.

8.       SKIING

Poland offers approximately 65 cableways and almost 700 ski lifts to those who love skiing. You can go skiing or snowboarding not only in the southern part of the country, but also in central Poland, and even in the area of Gdansk.

9.       GOLF COURSE

There are a great number of gold clubs in Poland. Associated in the Polish Golf Union, they contribute to golf sports and marketing events taking place on various golf courses and facilities.

10.   INTERNATIONAL WATERWAYS PASSING THROUGH POLAND

On the Oder River, from Ostrava to Szczecin.

On the Vistula River, from Gdabsk to Warsaw and then further on the Bug River towards the eastern border and to the Black Sea.

From Germany, through the Warta River, the Notec River, the Bydgoszcz Canal, the Vistula River, the Vistula Lagoon and Kaliningrad.
