NAKHON SRI THAMMARAT
Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province,
the second largest province of the south boasts pristine verdant jungles
abundant with luxuriant vegetation and is also noted for picturesque beaches
and beautiful waterfalls.
The city of Nakhon Sri Thammarat
was the administrative center of southern of Thailand during most of its
history. It is one of the most ancient cities of Thailand, previously Kingdom
of Ligor and contains many buildings and ruins of historical significance. In
the 17h century British , Portguese and Dutch merchants set up factories there
and carried on an extensive trade.
Other attractions to see include
the Kiriwong Village, famous for its agro tourism , pink dolphins of Khanon
Beach , shadow puppet and nielloware.
