TIME ZONES
The United States of America is divided into 4 separate time zones:
EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST) for the eastern states up to and including Michigan, Indiana and part of Kentucky. EST is equal to Universal Time minus 5 hours (UT-5)
CENTRAL STANDARD TIME (CST) for all central states, including Alabama across to Texas, the majority of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota . CST is equal to Universal Time minus 6 hours (UT-6)
MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (MST) for the states of Montana, Wyoming , part of Idaho,Utah,Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.MST is equal to Universal Time minus 7 hours (UT-7)
PACIFIC STANDARD TIME (PST) covers the states of Washington , Oregon, Nevada and California. PST is equal to Universal Time minus 8 hours (UT- 8)
In addition, Alaskan Standard Time (AST) is equal to Universal Time minus 9 hours (UT- 9) and Hawaii Aleutian Standard Time (HAST) is equal to Universal Time minus 10 hour (UT- 10).The U.S Territories have separate time zones.
