INTRODUCTION TO HEILONGJIANG

The province of Heilongjiang lies on the northeastern border of China, and its name derives from the Heilongjiang River, the largest river flowing through the province. It faces Russia on the opposite bank of the Heilongjiang River in the north and the Ussuri River in the east. 

The province has national borderlines stretching for 3045 kilometres.It adjoins the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the west and border Jilin Province in the south. The province covers 454800 square kilometers and has total populations of 38.15 million. As a province of abundant ethnic customs, it accommodates 49 ethnic customs; it accommodates 48 ethnic groups, such as the Han, Manchu, Korean, Mongolian, DaurXibe, Ewenki.Oroqen and Hezhen.

 Besides the magnificent Greater and Lesser Khingan Ranges and the boundless Sanjiang Plain, there are also rolling hills ,vast grasslands, dense forests and imposing volcanic landforms.Such rivers asHeilongjiang ,Songhuajiang and Ussuri crisscross with one another in the province. Benefiting from its unique geological location and plentiful tourism resources, Heilongjiang Province has become a well known destination for more than 30 travel programs, including summer tour, ice and snow tour, transnational tour, border tour and hunting tour.

In spring,, the province is a world full of passion and vitality. Impressive unfreezing moment  of rivers flame red azaleas all over Khingan Ranges, delicious fish on banquets celebrating unfrozen rivers, wild flower blossoming against snow…..All of these show up the endless vitality of nature.  In addition, the good season for skiing here is from March to April.

In summer, the province is a summer resort for its pleasant climate. You can enjoy bathing in lakes or sunshine and breathtaking rafting, as well as volcanic landforms, primitive forests, wetland scenery and rare birds. In winter, the province is a world of snow and ice. The sea of forests, snow covered plains, rimes, frozen waterfalls, ice lamps, snow sculpture fairs and first class ski resorts add more passion and vigor to Heilongjiang in winter.
