CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN
Changbai Mountain is the most typical natural composite body
in northern Eurasia Continent.The state class Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve,covering
1900 square kilometrs , was accepted by the UNESCO into the Man and Biosphere
Network in 1980 and approved by the UNSECO as an expectant World Natural
Heritage and is regarded as a rare gene bank of species and natural museum in
the world.
With Tianchi Lake as the representative scenic spot, the nature
reserve encompasses valleys, waterfalls, volcanic, rock forest,alpine gardens ,
underground rivers, virgin forests, a sea of clouds and mists and ice and snow
landscapes. Originating from Changbai Mountain, the Songhu and Yalu Rivers
meander through the vast forests in the territory of Baishan City , nourishing
the distinctive Guandong Culture.
NORTHERN
SLOPE SCENIC ZONE OFCHANGBAI MOUNTAIN
Located in the
Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture ,this scenic zone embraces Tianchi Lake
waterfalls, hot springs, Lesser Tianchi Lake, underground forests, alpine
skiing resort and secluded valley of Betula ermanii, presenting breathtaking
views in all seasons. In winter tourists can take special means of transportation
straight to the primary peak of the mountain
WESTERN SLOPE SCENIC ZONEOF CHANGBAI MOUNTAIN
Located in Fusong County, of Baishan City in south eastern
Jilin Province, this scenic zone is 198 kilometres from the city proper of
Baishan. The National Highway 201 connects the urban district of Baishan wiith
Fusong County, and from there the Provincial Highway 302 leads to the Western
Slope Scenic Zone; the entire Road being in good condition. Inside the scenic zone
are alpine gardens, Changbai Mountain Gorge and other scenic spots.
