STATE CLASS DRAGON BAY COMPLEX NATURE RESERVE
China’s largest volcanic lake complex, it covers an area of
81.02 square kilometres at one end of
Longgang Range in Changbai Mountain.It comprises ten scenic pots, namely Great
Dragon Bay, Second Dragon Bay,East Dragon Bay, South Dragon Bay, Triangle
Dragon Bay, Dry Dragon Bay,Diaoshui
Lake, Golden Dragon Summit and Square Summit,of which the Great Dragon Bay,
Triangle Dragon Bay and Diao Shui Lake present the most enchanting views. It is
a famous volcanic ruins park.
XINGHAI NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
A bout 70 kilometers southwest of Tongyu County, Xianghai
National Nature Reserve borders Keyouzhong Banner of Inner Mongolia in the west
and is adjacent to Taonan City in the north.Stretching 45 kilometers from north
to south and 42 kilometers from east to west , it covers an area of 1055 square
kilometres , including a forest area of 290 square kilometers.
Xianghai features complex landforms and diverse ecological
envioronment .Sand dunes meadows,, swamps
and lakes scattered around here contribute to a typical diverse wetland
landscape.The nature reserve encompasses 4 eco-scenic zones: sand dunes and elm
forest, lakes , reed marshes and meadows.It is home to 595 kinds of plants and
52 species of wildlife, including 10 first class species and 42second class
species.
The Xianghai Nature Museum , like a natural zoo of wildlife,
displays hundreds of life like specimens of precious birds and rare beasts,
including frost-clad wild wolves, rampant vultures, fierce eagles and dancing
red crowned cranes.
