INDIA ODISHA BUDDHIST SITES

BHUBANESWAR DHAULI
DHAULI is a historical place associated
with famous Kalinga War and Peace (3rd century BC) . The great Mauryan King
Asoka had written here in his Edicts, about the people of Kaling with an
elephant figure atop. In the year 1972, a Shatni Stupa –the reminiscence of
Buddhism is constructed here to spread the message of peace and brotherhood.
2.
LALITGIR SITE
Lalitgir is a major Buddhist complex in the
Indian State of Odisha comprising major stupas, “esoteric’ Buddha images and
monasteries, one of the oldest sites in the region. The ruins of Earliest
Buddhist Site of India ( 3rd century B.C to 13th century
A.D) having number of Buddhist monuments of Relic Caskets found here from the Mahastupa.

RATNGIRI SITE
A famous Buddhist site having Mahastupa,
Monasteries, museum and Vajrayana pantheons amidst picturesque hilltop.
4.
UDAYAGIRI SITE
A unique Buddhist Site that tells the story
of rise and fall of Buddhism from 2nd century BC to 13th
century A.D. Number of Stupas and Monasteries are there to known the leaf of
culture and civilization in picturesque Valley.
