KUALA

Kuala

cultural and economic center of Malaysia and is rated as a gamma world city. It
is the only global city in Malaysia. Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as Klang
Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.2 million. It is the fastest growing
metropolitan region in the country, in terms of population as well as economy.
The main
attractions are spread throughout the city, although the greatest concentration
of places of interest are in the city center, where you will find the
Independence Square ( Dataran Merdeka) the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and
other Colonial era buildings surrounding the square; the National Mosque ; the
Moorish style Kuala Lumpur Railway Station which now houses a mini museum on
Malaysia railway history; many of Kl’s other museums including the National
Museum; and the pretty Lake Gardens to the west. Within the city center is also
the fascinating narrow streets of Chinatown, Kl’s traditional commercial
district, with its many Chinese shops and places to eat.
Another
area of interest is the Golden Triangle. Although predominantly a shopping

Jalan Pinang and Jalan Ampang) , it is also home to Petronas Twin Towers, once
the world’s tallest building. In the nearby Kl Convention Center is the Aquaria
KLCC which contains some 5000 varieties of tropical fish and just south of the
Twin Towers is the KL Tower, which is situated on top of Bukit Nanas, a forest
reserve right in the heart of the city.
PUTRAJAYA
Malaysia
began its search for a new administrative centre in the 1980s to provide a more
balanced development away from Kuala Lumpur. A site in the southern Prang Besar
estate was chosen and Putrajaya came to be.
Did you know that the entire
Putrajaya project was designed and constructed by Malaysian companies and 90
percent of the materials used were source in Malaysia. While Kuala Lumpur will
remain as the country’ financial and commercial capital, Putrajaya is the new
Federal Government administrative centre.
Putrajaya
sits on magnificent 4931 hectares of land within the Multimedia Super Corridor.
The new city is also known as the “Garden City because of its focus on
preservation of its” eco” features. A third of Putrajaya’s area is set aside as
open spaces.
Residents and visitors can expect a comfortable environment with
lush greenery, gardens and parks such as popular Botanical Park and the Perdana
Park spread across landscapes enhanced by lakes and wetlands. Stylishly
designed government offices now sit along the Boulevard, surrounded by the
massive Putrajaya Lake.Drive through the Boulevard, the Seri Saujana and Seri
Wawasan bridges for a spectacular view of majestic Putrajaya.
CYBERJAYA
Cyberjaya
is one of two “intelligent cities” under the Multimedia Super Corridor project.
This is a 15 km by 50 km zone, to be occupied by high technology companies that
Malaysia envisions as its version of Carlifornia’s Silicon Valley. The main
components of this corridor –Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur
International Aiport, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya- are bound by a fibre optic
network that provides high speed computer links. Cyberjaya is a multimedia
catalyst centre created for global R&D and designed with the capacity to be
the operational headquarters for multinational firms wishing to direct their
worldwide activities using multimedia technology.
The central
theme for the development is providing a quantum jump in standards, summarized
as follows:
1.
A
leading edge multimedia centre that will attract world class multimedia /IT
companies
2.
Sophisticated
and state of the art integrated infrastructure and IT system
3.

and efficient transportation systems with an emphasis on public transport
A number of companies who qualify for MSC incentives have relocated
their operations to Cyberjaya. Among them are Dell, DHL, HSBC, OCBC, BMW, IBM,
SHELL It and others. Currently, over 400 MSC status companies have located
their operations here, making the townships a rapidly growing area.
KLIA(SEPANG)
KL International Airport is surrounded by 4 main cities of Kuala Lumpur,
Shah Alam,Seremban and Malacca. The airport is a catchment area and offers
opportunities for a hive of business activities. Every effort has been made to
create a homely airport with a serene environment combined with high technology
attractions. Nature and greenery are part of the airport in line with the
“airport in the forest and forest in the airport” concept. The natural environment
of the airport is transformed to functions and activities that continue to
enhance nature. The abundant forest areas will be preserved and transformed
into an environment park containing recreational facilities. For car racing
