1. RAM MANDIR
Ram Mandir is beautifully decorated with holy images of Rama , Lakshman and Sita. The temple in the heart of the city can be easily identified by its high spire. Idols of Lord Shiva and Hanuman , that are made out of marble enshrine the place.
2. INDIRA GANDHI PARK
Spread over an area of 10.6 acres the park is the place where the erstwhile Prime Minister of India Smt Indira Gandhi had delivered her last public speech on 30 October 1984, a day prior to her assassination in New Delhi. Once a famous parade ground, the prime attraction of this park is the statue of Indira Gandhi, a masterpiece of the Russian duo Dimitry Ryebachev and Alexander Ryebachev.
3. BDA CITY CENTRE
Located at the central part of the city, this park covers an area of over 25 acres. It has a kid's corner , a parking lot , water fountains jog tracks and the likes. It is owned and maintained by Bhubaneswar Development authority, which is also responsible for the upkeep of more than 50 parks and open spaces across the city
4. KALINGA STADIUM
The Kalinga Stadium is the biggest and the main stadium of Bhubaneswar . Presently converted into a sport complex, it has an 8 lane synthetic track, gymnasium hall, swimming pool and a 3 side gallery ,which can accommodate more than 55000 spectators.
5. LINGARAJ TEMPLE
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and dates back more than 1000 years. Hovering at a height of 180 ft, the temple looks down on most of the skyscrapers below. It is located within a spacious courtyard that is 520 ft long and 465 ft wide. Other than the main temple , there are around 150 smaller shrines within the complex.
Lingaraj meaning " king of the lingas" is dedicated to Lord shiva in his Tribhubaneshwara ( lord of the three worlds) manifestation. In addition to the deul ( sanctum - sanctorum) and the jagmohana ( porch) , the temple has the natamandira ( hall of dance) and the bhogamandapa (hall of offering)

The 11th century temple is built with rare sandstones of red and gold shades. Most notable feature of this temple is the idols of Indra,Agni, Yama, Nairiti, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera and Ishana, guarding it from all directions. Temple exhibits yet another phase in the evolution of Odishan temple architecture.
7. BINDUSAGAR LAKE
According to myths, Lord Shiva made this lake in order to quench the thirst of Devi Parvati.
The lake is about 1300 ft in length and 700 ft in width. The banks of Bindusagar Lake are bound and paved with stone slabs which further enhance its charm. The idol of Lord Shiva from the Lingaraj Temple is given a bath as a ritual annually. The holy water of this lake is believed to have miraculous powers that can cure ailments. It is also believed that the water of this lake is holy and washes away all the sins and diseases, when taken a dip.
8. MUKTESWAR TEMPLE
Mukteswar is one of most prominent temples of Odisha, known for its exquisite architecture , Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the 10th century shrine has a huge well, whose water is believed to cure infertility. The " Jewel of Odissi Architecture", is a potpourri of Jain, Hindu and Buddhist architecture. The exquisite torana ( gateway) to the Mukteswara Temple, has elaborate sculptures that resemble attributes of female forms , monkeys and peacocks.
9. AVANTA VASUDEVA TEMPLE
The temple of Krishan , Balarama and subhadra was built by Chandrikadevi, daughter of Ananga- Bhumadev III un 1278 AD. Unlike other temples of that era, it has uniform sanctum, porch and 3 chambers namely Jagamohana, Natamandira and Bhogamandapa. Standing high on the banks of Bindusagar lake, it is visually a smaller replica of the Lingaraj Temple.
10. PARSURAMESWAR TEMPLE
The 7th century temple is comparatively similar than others. It is known for its engravings that portray Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati's wedding. The temple is also abode of Indra (god of rain), Surya (the Sun( and Yama ( god of death) along with the seven mother goddesses. The sculptures found here, all share a sense of elegance and dimensions rarely seen in other temples across the state.
11. EKAMRA KANAN
The botanical research and conservation centre houses a large lake , rose gardens, flower beds, lush lawns and numerous species of plants. A large number of birds migrate to the lake every year. A Cactus garden here, rare has an incredible collection of cacti rare trees and 9000 varieties of roses. A flower show is held here in December -January.
12. KHANDAGIRI & UDAYGIRI
Khandagiri and Udaygiri, the identical hills are the most popular tourists sites in Bhubaneswar . Lying beside each other , Khandagiri has 15 rock cut caves while Udaygiri has 18. Most of the caves are of either Buddhist or Jain origins. Historians have determined that the excavation of the hillside started sometime around the 1st century BC and was carried on for centuries. The sculptures in these rock cut shrines are some of the best in India and provide an important understanding of the evolution of architecture in general and sculpture in particular in India.
13. PATHANI SAMANTA PLANETARIUM
The planetarium was constructed as a tribute to the great 19th century astronomer Pathani Samanta Chandrashekhar. Along with its regular night sky viewing, poster shows and audio visual programs, it also provides financial and academic support to young researchers. A public library equipped with books on science and technology is also within the planetarium's premises.
14. KEDAR GOURI TEMPLE
Dedicated to Lord Shiva in his Kedareshwar manifestation ion and shrines of Lord Shiva). The ancient text , Kapila Samhita states that the stream that flows by the side of this temple has miraculous powers. Nearby are 2 lakes known as Marichi Kund and Khira Kund. The waters of Marichi Kund is said to be good for digestion and Khira Kund 's water is sold in auction to women who cannot conceive.
15. VAITAL TEMPLE
The 8th century Vaital Temple is known for its semi cylindrical roof and the gopuram (spire) in Dravidian style. Chamuda is the presiding deity in this temple which is why one of the oldest and regular customs here is animal sacrifice. It is also a major pilgrimage spot for tantriks.
16. DHAULIGIRI HILL
Dhauligiri Hill is one of the most revered Buddhist pilgrimages in Odisha. Emperor Ashoka retired from the violence of war and embraces Buddhism from this place. Apart fromthe edicts of Ashoka, one can visit the Shanti Stupa, Saddharma Vihar Monastery , ancient sculpture , rock out caves and numerous small Hindu temples.
