INTRODUCTION:
At the southern most tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal meet, lies Kanyakumari, an important pilgrimage center. Kanyakumari is famous for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets , especially on full moon days . The Kanyakumari distirict wa sonce in the erstwhile Travancore State , which was ruled by the Kings of Chera line. Consequent on the linguistic reorganisation of states in India the Southern part of Travancore State was integrated with Tamil Nadu in the year 1956 and it becaame a district name of Devi Kanyakumari

The Western Ghats ending into green hills , perennial rivers, lotus filled tanks, dense forests with wild elephants , extensive paddy fields, rich palm groves, wavy coconut gardens and a carved coastal line of nearly 7 km length are the unique natural features of the Land's End - Promontory of India.
