Situated about 15 kms from Coimbatore, in the undulating confines of the Western Ghat off Perur town, is the vast 1000 acre township of Kovai Hills. The 200 acre 18 hole championship golf course, Kovai Hills Golf Club and Academy , is located inside the township and makes for an ideal weekend destination. Designed by David Hemstock in 2009, this course has 6 water bodies and 66 hazards, and is quite a challenging course to par on, especially when it's windy . It is not unusual for golfers to hit the ball and find it landing in an elephant footprint! The course also has a golf academy with trained instructor from the Golf academy of India and Indian Golf Union.
The Club house has cottages fashioned after Swiss chalets and has provisions for several sports, a multi cuisine restaurant and bar.
