Indonesia - Did you know NUSA TENGGARA ?

From Bali you could sail eastward to Nusa Tenggara, a region divided to 2 provinces, West Nusa Tenggara and east Nusa Tenggara. Visiting Sumba Island in East Nusa Tenggara, between the months of February and March would give you the opportunity to witness traditional Pasola jousting ceremony, a most exciting ritual of the local people.

Pasola which in the local language means lance battle game, is a mock war performed as part of a thanksgiving event. Hundreds of colorfully arrayed horsemen riding horses flinging blunt spears at each other. The rumble of horses tramping their hoofs on the battle field, the neighing of the horses and the ferocious screaming of their riders form natural background music of the ritual.

The islands in West Nusa Tenggara may be considered the paradise for water spot lovers providing the right spots for snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. Amazing scenery can be enjoyed at Gili Trawangan , Gili Air and Sengigi beaches. A special attraction at beach between Gili Meno and Gili Air is the existence of blue reefs that are only found here and in the Caribbean Sea.
Blue reefs can only found at 2 locations in the world: a beach between Gili Meno and Gili Air, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara and the Caribbean Sea.

In addition to its seaside attractions, Nusa Tenggara is also the destination of mountain  climbers and trekkers. One of the popular trekking sites on the region is Mount Rinjani. The second highest volcanic mountain in Indonesia after Mount Kerinci in Sumtra , it offers spectacular scenery of the blue water of Segara Anak Lake formed in the crater of the mountain. Due to beauty of the lake, in 2004 the mountain was granted with " World Legacy Award" (WLA) . The award presented by the National Geographic Society and Conservation International places Bali as the best location under " destination stewardship" category.

The mountain tourism sites in the East Nusa Tenggara province include Mount Kelimutu with exotic views seen from the peak. This mountain has 3 crater lakes known as Three Color Lakes, displaying 3 different colors: red, blue and white. Uniquely , the colors of the lakes keep changing with the course of time. A special excitement offered by the region is encounter with the prehistoric reptile, Komodo , at the Komodo National Park . Existing exclusively in the Komodo Island, this prehistoric species is declared as a world heritage protected species. In addition to the prehistoric reptile , the island also prides its unique pink sandy beach . What an amazing sight!
