Floating Market Kuin is a traditional floating market on Barito river at the estuary of Kuin river, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
This market is unique because both vendors and buyer use jukung ( boat in Banjar language). after solat at dawn this market starts to wriggle and increasingly crowded as the morning sun rise up to 7 o'clock. The transactions of various merchandise and garden produce from the villagers along the river Barito enliven the atmosphere above the river in the morning. uniquely , sometimes barter transactions occur between merchants on the boat , or bapanduk in Banjar language .
The trip gets more interesting as you make direct interaction with the local people in the midst of the floating market along Barito River of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. Communication between buyers and sellers happen from boat to boat. How interesting!
Other Eco tourism spots in the region encompass Bukit Bangkirai park in East Kalimantan. The main attraction is a canopy bridge made of ropes of around 30 metres high that connects 6 giant trees in the midst of the jungle. What a pretty sight! From the bridge you could enjoy the vast spread of rain forest with wild birds flying around and chirping melodiously accompanied by other sounds of the wild life in the background, all in perfect harmony with the nature as we stand on the canopy bridge. East Kalimantan also holds precious underwater treasure around Derawan Island.
