Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) , established in 1927, is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf courses in the country . Initially ,rather unimaginatively , called The New Club Ltd, BPGC is spread across 100 acres of land bought from the Bombay Port Trust. It was renovated in 2009 by Nelson& Haworth Redesign and its lush green expanse currently spreads over 90 acres with 7 water bodies, 43 bunkers and 11 hazards . While the course itself might not present any major difficulties , as it is neither too long nor too narrow, but the temperamental sea breeze often proves to be a hindrance for even the most experienced golfers.
The club has a restaurant , although entry is restricted to members and their guests. The club also has a billiards room , a well -stocked pro shop , a practice putting range and a bar.
