QUAN DE MIEU ( ONG PAGODA)

Quan De Mieu ( Ong Temple) is an institution of the Chinese 's belief in Binh Thuan built in 1778. The pagoda is located at 161 Tran Phu Street, Ward Duc Nghia, Phan Thiet City with an architectural area of about 3000 square meters. In addition to typically ancient relics including 111 worship cabinets , 14 old pictures , 2 great bells, 60 horizontal  lacquered  boards, 42 parallel sentences , 2 text steles , 3 version of text on bells, especially symbols of Quan Cong, Thien Hau Lady. These great bell were made in China sent to Vietnam. At Ong Pagoda, there are also many ceremonies to be held, such as : Lunar New Year Eve, Worshipping Gods , Anniversary Day of the Holy One, of Holy Mother, of Thien Hau Lady, Lunar New Year , in which the most special and important festival is Nghinh Ong Quan Thanh ( Anniversary Day of the Holy One) taking place for 3 continuous days in a time period of 2 years ( even numbered years) in middle of the 7th lunar month. This is a particularly traditional festival, not only held for the Chinese community in Binh Thuan, but also participated by of the Chinese in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces. In addition to ceremony parts with dozens of traditional rituals, there are activities of impressive and attractive festival to be held on streets of Phan Thiet City.
