1. FINANCIAL TOWER
Bitexco Financial Tower is 262 meters tall with 68 floors including 6 floors of commercial area ( more than 8000 square meters) and a grade A office block with an area of 37000 square metres. The group has spent US270 million for this project. In addition, more than 600 square meters are used for cuisine on the 48th floor and 49th floor restaurant area. The first helicopter pad in Vietnam was built on the 50th floor and an observatory in the 47th floor can see the city of landscape.
The Bitexco Finacial Tower inauguration is designed by Prisme International ( France) with the screen light show, which will be held for the first time in Vietnam.
2. LUXURY STREET
Dong Khoi is possibly the best street for a stroll in town . This 600m street has come fascinating sights including old French style buildings of which the Opera House is the most impressive. Dong Khoi is teeped in history, albeit recent. Built by the French in 1985, this was where foreign reporters congregated during the American War. From morning till late night, tourist can shop here as Dong Khoi is a center for handicrafts, you can also step into some unusual bars, maybe just for a coffee or just lounge, watching the intriguing sights of Saigon Street life. After several name changes ,in 1975, it came Dong Khou street , in honor of a revolutionary movement which started in Ben Tre and was led by a brave woman , Nguyen Thu Dinh.
3. BEN THANH MARKET
The market was built in 1914 in an area of 1 sq kilometer. The clock tower with 4 clocks facing 4 directions is considered the symbol of the city . Nowadays , Ben Thanh Market is one of the biggest markets in the city where everything can be found, from vegetables and fish to spices and electronic gadgets.
4. CHINA TOWN ( CHO LON)
Over here is bustling town for more than 5 million Chinese inhabitants. China town was set up by the end of 18th century when the Minh dynasty in China town set up by the end of 18th century when the Minh dynasty in China was overthrown. China town has many shops and family factories. The most interesting place is Binh Tay Market built by a Chinese Business man, always crowded as a wholesale market. Most merchandizes can be purchased at wholesale price in China town.

Backpacker Area is located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City . The intersection of Pham Ngu Lao and De Tham streets are referred to as the backpacker district of Saigon. This area is frequented by Ho Chi Minh city locals and tourist who flock to the area markets ( both open air and indoors) to buy cheap clothes ( some of which are counterfeit) , DVDs , souvenirs and war memorabilia. The many bars and cafes in this district area. In the Vietnamese language, this area is called " Khu Tay Ba Lo" ( Backpacker's area) . This is among the most favourite places f tourists because of its vast of budget guest houses, mini hotels and international food shops. This area remains good value and becomes lively when night falls.
