There are many waterfalls in Lake Kenyir , popular amongst picnickers for their coll , relaxed and rejuvenating ambiance. A picnic at the waterfalls is featured in almost every itinerary and the popularity of the falls ensures the provision of basic amenities such as toilets , changing rooms and rest areas. Other gems include Petang, Lata Terap, Sg Buweh, Sg Lawit and Petuang Waterfall.
LASIR WATERFALL
Located 16km south of Gawi Jetty is Lasir Waterfall. About a 20-30 minute boat ride from the jetty, the majestic 500 foot waterfall drops gracefully onto a multi tiered array of boulders and rocks forming cascading showers of foaming white spray. The base of the waterfall is shaded by the leafy green canopy of the surrounding tropical rainforest, making it an ideal spot for an afternoon rest.
SAOK WATERFALL
Soak waterfall is a mere 15 minute boat ride west of the jetty to Chergau Island, the lake's largest island. Cascading water over its rocky terraces and boulders , complemented by a flat sandy shore at the base of the waterfall , makes it the perfect picnic spot for families. It is a cooling and rejuvenating holiday retreat.
TEMBAT WATERFALL
Further west of the jetty, approximately 1 hour by boat, is the unique Tembat Waterfall which unlike other waterfalls is composed of 5 rapids of fast flowing cascades. A favorite amongst campers, the waterfall has a large camping area at the edge complemented by a hiking trail that leads to the top of the falls. From here, hikers are rewarded with a magnificent vista of the waterfall and its surroundings.
