Our trip this time would bring us to the third largest island in the world, Kalimantan, or also known as Borneo . Administratively , the island is divided in 4 provinces , West Kalimantan , Central Kalimantan ,South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, a paradise for those who love flora and fauna and find ecotourism exciting. The island is hared by 3 countries : Indonesia , Brunei and Malaysia.
We would now meet the increasingly extinct orangutan. To do so , we will take a trip to the Tanjung Puting National Park in Central Kalimantan. Covering 415,040 hectare forest area, it has been announced by UNESCO as the global lungs. It takes an exciting adventure to reach the national park known as Camp Leakey , rowing along a river on a motor boat amidst dense tropical rain forest.
What an astounding time !
In addition to the tropical rainforest beauty that dominates most of the island, Kalimantan also prides the underwater exquisiteness. Let us pay a visit to Derawan and Sangalaki Islands in East Kalimantan, just the right locations for snorkeling and diving. The coastal areas of this island host tremendously magnificent collection of coral reefs.
