TAIWAN KAOHSIUNG - ROMANTIC HARBOR

1. LOVE RIVER
The Love River flows through Kaohsiung City and is a signature tourist attraction. Its romantic atmosphere attracts people on dates, taking a stroll , sipping coffee, listening to music and enjoying the evening breeze.

* between Wufu Bridge and Jhongjheng Bridge
* Take the Kaohsiung MRT orange Line to City Council Station ( 04), leave the station from Exit 2, turn left  and walk for approximately 10 minutes.

2. LOVE RIVER SOLAR -POWERED BOAT 
Besides walking along the river, visitors can also go sightseeing on the Love River by boat. Because of the promotion in recent years of environment protection policies, the Kaohsiung City Government has introduced a low- noise , environmentally - friendly solar -powered boat for visitors to appreciate the night view along the Love River.

* Boarding Place: The pier opposite to the Ambassador Hotel
* Route : Love Pier- Cisian Bridge
* Time : 1600 - 2300 ( Monday - Sunday)

3. LOVE PIER 
The Love Pier is situated near the estuary of the Love River. Here, the visitors can overlook the Cijin Ferry Terminal and appreciate Kaohsiung's skyline.

* Gongyuan Road by Wufu Bridge
* Take the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line to Central Park Station ( R9) and transfer to bus R20.

4. TOURIST FERRY ( LOVE PIER - CIJIN HARBOR)
 Visitors can take the tourist ferry between the Love Pier and Cijin Harbor to appreciate Kaohsiung's charms from a different perspective.

* Boarding Place : Love Pier or Cijin Harbor
* Route : Love Pier- Cijin Harbor
* Time : 11:00- 21:00 ( weekends and national holidays only)

5. CIJIN
Cijin, located on a small island to the west of Kaohsiung City, is one of Kaohsiung's earliest developed areas. During holidays, swarms of tourists come here by ferry to eat seafood, enjoy the beach and see the historical sites. Situated only 10 minutes away from the downtown area, Cijin is a fabulous getaway resort for people from a busy city.

6.TOURIST FERRY ( GUSHAN - CIJIN)
Visitors can go to Cijin by ferry from Gushan. During the 10 minute trip , visitors will enjoy a beautiful view of Kaohsiung Harbor. They may also see a big ship entering the harbor. It is a very impressive sight indeed.

* Take the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line to Siziwan Station; leave the station from Exit 1 .
The Gushan Ferry Pier is within 8 minute walk.
Route : Gushan -Cijin
Time : 0500- 2400 -0200 ( Monday - Sunday)

7. SIZIHWAN 
Sizihwan 's sunset is one of top eight most beautiful sights in Kaohsiung . When the sun is setting, visitors or couples can stroll along the bank of the bay or choose a spot to enjoy the sunset and romantic atmosphere. Moreover, there are openings along the ramparts that provide a comfortable place for 2 people to sit and enjoy their own little piece of paradise.

8. FISHERMAN'S WHARF & BANANA PIER
Fisherman's Wharf and Banana Pier were at one time abandoned warehouses, but now they have been repurposed as tourist and leisure attractions. The First floor of the Banana Pier is occupied by the Banana Museum, while the second floor is a restaurant. As for Fisherman's Wharf, visitors will find outdoor shops, restaurants and pubs. Both are good places to spend your leisure time and enjoy the sea view.

* Cisian 3rd Road, Yancheng District
* take the Kaohsiung MRT orange line to city council station ( O4) , transfer to bus 248 ,get off at Fisherman Wharf Shop

9. SINGDA HARBOR & LOVE'S WHARF
In addition to being the most important mullet catching and processing station in Taiwan, the multi functional Singda Harbor is now a tourist attraction as well . Not only is fresh seafood available, the nearby Lover's  Wharf also provides a corner where visitors can savor a cup of coffee while enjoying the harbor view, a beautiful sunset , or just bathing in the atmosphere of southern Taiwan.
* take bus 8093 operated by kaohsiung Transporattion Co.Ltd at Dahu Railway Station and get off at Singda Harbor Shop

10. DUCK TOUR- AMPHIBIOUS VEHICLE 
Kaohsiung is the first city in Taiwan to introduce tourism oriented amphibious by vehicles. The vehicles were used by the american military in World War II to transport goods, materials or soldiers. After some modifications, the vehicles are now used for tourism oriented transportation on both land and water.

These amphibious vehicles are called " duck boats" because of their artistically designed cute duck - like bodies. The Kaohsiung City Government has introduced two "duck boats" to serve tourists.
In addition to being dazzled bu downtown Kaohsiung , tourists can also appreciate Kaohsiung's harbor view and skyline without taking a different means of transport.
