1. January
The Delight of Chinese Character Festival
In the delight of Chinese Character Festival, visitors can try to reconstruct Chinese characters create cross- disciplinary artistic works with these characters and enhance their imagination about these elements of Chinese language.
2. February
KAOHSIUNG LANTERN FESTIVAL
It's an annual activity held around Lantern Festival, on the 15th days of the 1st lunar month, at the Love River. The combination of the harbor view, the Love River, fabulous fireworks and various lanterns and vendor stands stretching for almost 3 kilometers always attracts visitors and tourists from home and abroad.
MEINONG COSMOS FLOWER FESTIVAL
Meinong Cosmos Flower Festival is held during the fallow when the farmers plant flowers to construct a colorful and romantic " flower sea". Visitors can pedal through the flower sea , enjoying the rural scenery and the coming of spring.

Megaport Music Festival
Megaport Music Festival is an activity held at the Pier-2 Art Center, allowing visitors to enjoy the pounding blast of independent rock and roll. It's not only a grand meeting for independent rock and roll. Neimen Songjiang Battle Array
Neimen in Kaohsiung has the most fabulous folklore performance troupes in Taiwan , among which the unique , traditional and internationally renowned Songjiang Battle Array is the best acclaimed.
4. Gangshan Luokang Festival
- 3 March of the Lunar calendar (the Birthday of the sea goddess Mazu)
- 14 August of the Lunar calendar ( the eve of Moon Festival)
- 15 September of the Lunar calendar ( Heroes Festival )
The Gangshan Luokang Festival is held 3 times each year. It's a traditional trade fair with a history of more than 200 years, always attracting people who want to reminisce about past time. In addition, it's also the only fair that transits from traditional to modern times in Taiwan, presenting Gangshan's commercial characteristics and its central position in the area.

Kaohsiung design festival
The organizer of the Kaohsiung Design Festival formulates different topics each year and invite designers from all over the world to ponder, brainstorm and show the value and soft power of design.
Dashu Pineapple & Lychee Cultural Festival
Dashu is famous nationwide for its Yuhebao Lychee and Jinzuan Pineapple. Every year's Dashu pineapple & lychee cultural festival always appeals to a large number of tourists with the juicy fruits and delicious local foods.

Dragon Boat Festival and Dragon Boat Racing ( 5/5 of the lunar calendar)
Dragon Boat Racing is held on the Love River every Dragon Boat Festival. Kaohsiung welcomes everyone to celebrate this event and cheer on the well -trained rowers.
7. July & August
Summer Kaohsiung
Summer Kaohsiung features cartoons and animation always attracting animation fans from all across Taiwan . Visitors will see numerous cosplay figures from cartoons , animation and comic books and enjoy the summer time with these imaginary figures in Kaohsiung.
9. September
The Lion Dance Festival is held as the highest level and most rewarded form of the lion dance competition in Taiwan . The audience will feel excitement and thrill when seeing performers mimic a lion's movements and jump among the high stilts.
10. October
Zuoying Wannian folklore Festival
The Zuoying Wannian Folklore Festival features the greeting of Huo Shih ( fire lion ). During the activity, every temple at Zuoying greets the coming of Huo Shih in turn with troupe performances , enveloping the area with a carnival atmosphere.
11. November & December
Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival / Kaohsiung Steel & Iron Sculpture Festival
Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival and Kaohsiung Steel & iron Sculpture are biennial activities held in November and December respectively. Designers and artists make use of discarded empty containers as materials or exposition space to create , produce or display their impressive creations.

Milk Fish Cultural Festival
The Milk Fish cultural Festival is one of the most important tourism events in Mituo, held every winter . Every chef will prepare a number of delicious and creative meals made of milk fish for visitors. Besides having tasty fish meals fish meals, visitors can also join in activities such as freeing fries and traveling by ox cart.

New Year's Eve Countdown Concert
The New Yer's Eve Countdown Concert is the final climax of Kaohsiung's annual activities. The City Government invites singers and entertainers every year to perform a live show lasting over 5 hours. Everyone on the spot raises hands to countdown , wishing Kaohsiung a year even better than the last.
