CHEER SNAKE BOATS AND ELEPHANT PARADES
Known as the land where the festivities never end, Kerala
plays host to 2 of the world’s most spectacular festivals- the Vallomkali (
snake boat race) and Thrissur Pooram. The largest team sport in the world, the
snake boat races held in connection with the harvest festival of Onam is a
celebration of Kerala’s religious harmony. While the Thrissur Pooram, billed as
the mother of all festivals , is a grand spectacle of caparisoned elephants,
fireworks and panchavadyam , Kerala’s traditional musical ensemble.
