GUA SUSU ( SUSU CAVE)
Another object around the area of
Mount Rinjani is the Susu Cae. There are 3 caves can be found around Rinjani as
part of your tracking program I.e SUSU Cave, Payung Cave and Manik Cave. Many
people say that Susu Cave is the most visited among the three, which is related
with the belief among the mountaineers. This cave is believed to be the best
place to do self-introspection.
Are you curious to visit Susu
Cave? It is quite easy to reach the location. Many direction signs are
installed everywhere during you walk down the mountain. If you decide to get
through the Torean hiking trails, then you will find the location. The easiest way
to get there is by crossing a wooden bridge after 30 minutes’ walk from the
Lake Segara Anak. Behind the bridge, you will see small ponds at a junction.
From this point, you only need to take a left turn to see the location of the
cave.
From the mouth of the cave, people
can see water dropping from stalagmites, which shaped like breast. These
appearances make people to name the site after the shape. Many visitors have
tested to drink the water drops, which interestingly have different tastes from
each stalagmite.
The possible reasoning for this phenomenon is that each
stalagmite contains different kinds of mineral. Other special features of the
cave are its warm temperature and fumes emerge in the cave, much looks like
inside a sauna bathroom. Mineral water from the concave is certainly good for
our healthy.
