4. HARAU CANYON (EARTH WALL WITHIN PAYA KUMBUH)
Harau Canyon consisted of steep boulder granites that separated a hilly area with prosperous plain underneath, added up with a waterfall about 150 meters down. This beautiful panorama is included into a nature park about 270 hectares width and became a home for some wild creature such as Tapirs indicus, gibbons, wild boars and Sumatran tiger, Granite cliffs of Harau Valley measured 80 to 300 meters, standing tall nearly 90 degrees in elevation that created a deep canyon complimented by fresh air.
This wonderful landscape situated 15 kilometers from Paya Kumbuh, West Sumatra and can be reached by mass transportation, departs from Aur Kuning bus terminus, Bukit Tinggi towards Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota about 45 km away. Take a bus to the direction of PayaKumbuh, about 15 kilometeres from Harau Canyon , then changes into direction Sari Lama, Approximately journey from Payakumbuh takes half an hour.
5. KRKATOA (UP, CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH A DEADLY VOLCANO ISLET)
Krakatoa – Sebesi are situated nearby capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta; but noted that it’s quite difficult to be reached due to the limited transportation and permit allowed in entering the nature park. But you can take this as a memorable adventure in the weekend. Let’s try.
Undeniably, Krakatoa is counted as one of the most deadly volcano in the world. The eruption in 1883 gave an impact towards global climate for several years in the future. And nowadays , it’s still an active volcano but speaking about dormant phases, it said safe to be visited and requested a permit from the Ministry of Forestry.
Krakatoa and Sebesi provided gorgeous landscapes both inland and underwater. And these areas established as UNESCO ‘s World Heritage Site since December 1991, included the sea and inland around Krakatoa. It’s written at Indonesia ‘s governmental law Sc/ECO/ 5827 .2409.
This volcano can be visited from Kalianda, Lampung instead taking enroute from Jakarta. If you take Kalianda as an entrance, the journey can be added with visiting Sebuku Kecil beach and Sebesi islet for stay overnight. The sailing to Krakatoa at the following day, early in the morning and enjoy the sunrise from a traditional boat.
