TIU KELEP
From Sendang Gile,
you can continue your trip to Tiu Kelep waterfall, located in the Lombok Utara,
the other side of Mount Rinjani . Tiu Kelep is at an altitude of 600 meters
above sea level . To find the location, the trip forces us to experience such
an energy consuming and challenging trip. Heading for the location of the
waterfall let us into a trip covering a walk , down the set of steps, get
through cobblestones, jump over small rivers , follow the path of irrigation
canal and walk through a dense forest.
After jumping over some small rivers, you
should follow a footpath for about 20 minutes until you find the location. From
the lane, you may be able to hear the thundering water falling from 600 meters.
After passing gigantic stones, you can witness the fascinating panorama from
the waterfall that looks like a stunning natural painting. Large enough volumes
of water strengthen the impression of beauty spread of Tiu Kelep. Morever,
gigantic walls shaped like a semicircle landscape with humid and musty
surfaces. If we compare the volume, Tiu Kelep flushes more water to Sendang
Gile, besides a very challenging trip to get there.
As mentioned
before, Tiu Kelep is surrounded by musty walls. Big amount of water down the
walls create such a great view that looks like huge water screen spoiling the
eyes of any visitors. Dense trees growing around this natural attraction creates
an impression of an exceptional room decorated with beads that creates fresh
and natural ambience. Other uniqueness of Tiu Kelep is the local myth living in
the local community. Local people believe that the water from Tiu Kelep has
magical virtue. Anyone who is exposed to the water may look one year younger
than his original age. Believe it or not, it is the local belief that still
alive within the society. All exhausting and challenging efforts are paid with
your inner satisfaction.
BENANG SETOKEL
Benang Setokel
Waterfall is not so different from the waterfalls discussed earlier. It is
geographically located in the northern part of Lombok Tengah. Besides the
access to the location is not so wearisome, the object offers two waterfalls
closed one another. Not too far from Benang Stokel, travelers can also visit
Benang Kelambu –Kelambu in Sasak language means curtain and stokel means a
bunch Benang Stkel acquires its name after shape of water stretched like a ball
of long yarn. The waterfall looks like an unbroken string of a long big yarn.
Not far from Benang
Setokel,there is another location of waterfall that looks like curtain. The
wall is flat and wide, rising like a giant wall. The flat wall is full of water
from the upper slope. The water falling from the height spread evenly to the
walls, long and smooth and creates in image of curtains covering a gigantic
glass surface of a window. Behind the sprinkle of the waterfall streaming into
the river, we can see a moss green wall.
