THAILAND SAMUI

SAMUI

ANG THONG NATIONAL MARINE PARK

A protected natural area with over 40 islands .All of islands are uninhabited and undeveloped except for one, Koh Paluay ,, is inhabited by “sea –gypsies” who still earn a living from fishing. The island looks like what Koh Samui used to look like 30 years ago, prior to the arrival of tourism and modern infrastructure. The Marine Park is famous for its natural beauty untouched by development.

Ang Thong National Marine Park consists of 42 islands. Its main islands are Phaluai Island, Wua Chio Island, Wua Talap Island, Mae Ko Island, Samsao Island, Phai Luak Island, Kha Island, Hindap Island, Phi Island, Wua Kantang Island,Mae Yat Island, Wua Te Island, Naiphut Island, Changsom Island, Hanuman Island, Thaiphlao Island, Huaklong Island and Kho Ban Island.

KOH NANG YUAN

It is not one, but 3 beautiful islands connected together by a sand bar of about50 .They are called North, Middle and South Island respectively. Located to the northeast of Koh Tao, the privately developed Koh Nang Yuan offer some of the best dive and snorkeling sites in the Gulf of Thailand.

KOH TAO

It is a premiere place for diving and boasts the most beautiful and fertile coral reefs in Thailand. Located next to Koh Tao is Koh Nang Yuan, the smallest of the 3 islands. With small dimension but plenty of views, this peanut shaped island has 11 bays and 10 peninsulas. The total length of the coastline is 29 kilometres. Each beach has ample accommodations for the visitor.

KOH PHANGAN

Koh Phangan is a magnificent island in the Gulf ofThailand just north of Koh Samui. Famed for home of the Full Moon Party, it offers nightlife in abundance yet is also the setting for an extraordinary array of nature’s wonders –waterfalls, tropical beaches, mountains, rare birds, reptiles and jungle

 ELEPHANT TREKKING

A popular activity on Koh Samui as thousands of visitors head to the mountain each year on the back of an elephant. Choose a 30 minute or a hour ride and follow guide to a local waterfall for swim and rest and then back to the resort when ready to go. You can have a photograph with an elephant to mark the occasion, but getting elephant to smile is about as easy as Bruce Willis to wish.

On this trip you will witness the traditional techniques still used in the elephant training process.Wonder at the delicacy and preciseness of such gigantic creatures in action. For a small fee, the adventurous can also enjoy the short but unforgettable elephant ride!!In present Thailand, elephants are only usued as a tremendously powerful beast of burden.

MONKEYS

On Samui, the monkey undoubtedly qualifies as man’s best friend. This isn’t surprising , since for centuries the people here have used monkeys to do the hardest part of the work climbing to the trees to “pick ripe nuts” on their coconut plantations. Until the advent of tourism, coconuts represented the main industry here, so these industrious little animals were greatly prized. To see the monkeys at work just watch out for signs at the roadside which say ‘Monkey Work Coconut” or go to the monkey theatre
